Regrettably, due to the recent trouble and disruption in Hong Kong we have decided to cancel the upcoming St Andrew's Ball. This decision has not been taken lightly but the safety of our members and guests is paramount.
The dance practice tomorrow 19th and 26th November are also cancelled.
To those who have already paid for tickets to the ball, I’d personally like to thank you for your support. You will of course receive a full refund. We will contact you in the coming days to arrange this.
At this point the Jockey Club have informed us that the St Andrew's Society Race Night, to be held on 27th November at Happy Valley, is still scheduled to go ahead as planned. We will take advice from the Club with regard to the running of this event. A limited number of tickets are still available.
The Annual Wreath Laying Ceremony is also planned for 11am at the Cenotaph on Friday 29th November followed by tea or coffee in The Hong Kong Club. All members are welcome to attend.
After that, the next major event for the Society will be the first ever Mixed Burns Dinner, to celebrate the life of Robert Burns. This promises to be a great night and will be held at The Conrad Hotel on Saturday 18th January 2020. Further information will be available shortly.
Thank you all for your understanding and for your support.
