Who are we?
The St. Andrew's Society in Hong Kong was first
established in 1881, and our objectives are the same now as they
were more than one hundred years ago. We aim to provide a focal
point for all Scots in Hong Kong, an opportunity for Scots men and
women to gather together at our many regular events and functions.
Our
events
Below is a selection of our
many regular social and sporting events held throughout the year.
The St. Andrew’s Ball
Our premier
social event, the St. Andrew's Ball is held each year on the last
Saturday in November -- closest to the anniversary of St.
Andrew. An evening of Scottish fare, dancing and
entertainment.
Hong Kong Football Club, Saturday 29th November, 2008
Burns Dinner
The
anniversary of Robert Burns is celebrated in the usual way -- good
food and wine, the traditional toasts and a few songs to round off
the evening.
Hotel Conrad Hong Kong, Friday 25th January, 2008
Regular
Scots “gatherings”
Regular gatherings are
held throughout the year, usually in a Central
"watering-hole". These popular events bring together
Scots and their guests in a friendly, informal fashion.
Sport
Events
Each year, the Society
fields teams against the English members of the Royal Society of St.
George at Rugby and Golf.
How
to join?
The St. Andrew's
Society welcomes everyone of Scots descent as well as those who have
a strong interest in, or close connection with, Scotland. New
members are always welcome -- contact us at the address overleaf,
